Coffee Giveaway (Mark-Out Monday #2)!

Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a phenom. weekend! (Linking up here.)

It's time for Mark-Out Monday, week two! Which, if you weren't around for last week's, is a giveaway of my 1 lb. of coffee or box of K-cups from Starbucks! This will happen mostly every week, unless I need to snag it for myself or someone else every so often!

But before I get to that, I just need to share with everyone what my Saturday night looked like.

Anyone heard of the Harlem Shake? The current trend floating around YouTube?

I had heard of it, but never really knew until I researched it Saturday evening when I got a text from Anthony's sister's friend saying we were all doing a Harlem Shake video, and to get over there ASAP, lol.

Apparently it is this little craze where you start out with a seemingly normal scene, all relaxed and calm, with just one person dancing like a weirdo. Then about fifteen seconds in, it cuts to everyone dancing like idiots to this one harlem shake song.

Sounds ridiculous to explain. But I will say, I probably couldn't have come up with a better way to spend my Saturday night. :)

Observe.

Meet my girlfriend Anthony, the cheerleader. Hehe. And to spare his poor dignity, I have to let you know, he was all but forced into wearing the uniform to appease his sister and her friend. Hehe. Nice bro. :) I will say though, he certainly knew how to work those pom-poms. Go team!

From right to left: Anthony, behind him is his mom decked out like a MILF. Next to him is his dad wearing his mom's coat. Behind his dad is an oompaloompa me wearing his sister's snowsuit. Next to Anthony's dad is his sister Olivia wearing footy pajamas, behind her is her friend Lauren wearing a biking over a huge fuzzy thing, holding their dog Ginger. Behind her is Anthony's brother Michael wearing a ski mask and gloves, and then far left is my cousin wearing a scarf on his head and sunglasses.

And a few pictures from the night.

Lauren & I, and then Lauren & I again with Anthony creepin' in the back.

Lauren & Olivia

And then Lauren and I afterward.

Anyway....
let's get to the giveaway, shall we??

This week I will be featuring a medium roast. And we might as well start with our house blend, no?

Pike Place
A Latin American bold, yet balanced blend.

Tasting Notes
Smooth & balanced

Pairs Well With
Chocolate, cinnamon, nuts

*I can offer this in either whole bean or K-cups -- winner's choice!*

To Win:
I use the number of comments at random.org to choose the winner. So please leave a separate one for each entry if you want it to count! :)

am I right or am I right?

A couple days ago, I was at Anthony's house and we had somehow gotten onto the topic of Ghost Whisperer, and by extension, Jennifer Love Hewitt and her lack of acting ability. Don't believe me? Pick an episode -- any episode...... from my four-season DVD collection..... of Ghost Whisperer.

Hey, I was young(er).....

As if no one else ever had a four-year lapse in judgment... :p

Anyway, as we were sitting making fun of her acting, her dating habits came up. And, you know, the fact that she is a hardcore serial dater and when things don't work out because she is reportedly too clingy, she goes and writes a book about her bad experiences... Honestly, it's like she doesn't want to find a guy.

As fun was being poked at Jennifer Love Huge-tits, a little light bulb went off. And the brighter the bulb shined, the more light was shed upon an uncanny handful of similarities between two female celebrities.....

And then it occurred to me...

Taylor Swift is the Jennifer Love Hewitt of my generation.

Observe.
Yes I did spend free time doing this while
 watching Ghost Whisperer
and listening to Taylor Swift's "Red". :p
Can you deny it?

Has anyone else noticed these odd similarities?

... and this is what I do with my time day off.  #winner

love notes

From myself. To... myself.

______________________________________________________________________________

But before I get to that, I just wanted to take a second to send a quick love note to my favorite pooch up in doggy Heaven. It was a year ago today that we had to put her down. I still have her collar next to my bed, and I still cry when I read the "Rainbow Bridge" poem. It's so true that you never really "get over" a pet. And it's sad that we only to get to have them for such a short time. But in that time, they most definitely leave some pretty serious paw prints on your heart! Miss you bubs! <3

Above I linked to a post from my old blog from when we put her down, if anyone is interested. Don't mind the heinous layout. Once I left that blog, I started using it as my dummy blog for when I want to see how a layout looks/feels. In case anyone is wondering, the one I currently have there stinks ;).
______________________________________________________________________________

Alrighty, moving on before the waterworks start get out of control.

What was I saying again?

Oh yeah, love notes.

Or, in my case, a nice way of saying, "I am not smart enough to function without these notes."

I'm sure we all do this every so often. Or maybe I am just saying that so that I feel like less of an amnesiac because I have to do it.

When I need to remember to do something, I leave a post-it on my bedroom door. The more important, the closer to my eye level.

So basically, the lower the note, the more important it is. Said the midget.

You know, the normal stuff -- birthdays, reminders to mail things, I have one up there now reminding me that my tuition is due by 12/28.

Oh, and then the not so normal things, kind of like this one, that has graced my door since October.

Yup. It's true. I sometimes (ahem, most Sundays) need a reminder to change into sneakers before I leave the house to go to work.

But hey! Before you get all eyebrow-raisey and judgy, I have my reasons! In the morning when I take the dog out, I throw on my fake uggs because they're easy.

Oh yeah, they are also the epitome of comfortable. And before I head down to work where I will spend the day uncomfortable, in a pool of melancholy depression, girlfriend likes to be as comfy as possible.

............. and sometimes I'm just so comfortable, I forget. :)

Do you leave yourself notes? What helps you remember to change your shoes? :p

a random collection of crap

Because I tend to experience suckage in the form of blogging more often than not, I figured I would struggle to throw together a random jumble of crap for y'all today as my blog post. Sound good? Good.

1. First and last mention until 2016 when ideally the country is still standing because whomever takes office waves their magic wand and solves all the problems of the world. Oh wait. That will never happen. So maybe we should stop searching for the most perfect candidate in the world ever to make it happen, and just focus on who is more concerned about working towards solving the problems at hand. No one president will solve all of our problems. To seek one is to seek perfection. So yeah.. stop doing that. And just vote. I don't care who it is (alright, I do, but not enough to actually pursue it). Do not forfeit the right that lives were lost to earn for us. Don't waste something like that.

2. Today while watching a DVR'd Halloween episode of Kate + 8 or whatever the hell they are calling it these days, I saw a preview of Breaking Amish. And, well, because this here reality show whore doesn't have enough reality trash to make fun of, I hopped OnDemand and started searching for it. Lucky for me, they had it. So far I have a few thoughts...
Abe - What a cutie pie. Honestly I think he is the only one of these kids that I like at all. He is adorable, seems really kind, looks like a leprechaun (in a good way), and just seems like a sweetie.
Jeremiah - Ew. He looks like a closet serial killer. Like, the kind you don't know about until you Google them because their non-creepiness becomes less and less consistent. Anyway, you're a weirdo, Jeremiah. But I am glad you think you are so cool, because no one else does.
Kate - She looks a lot like Elisabeth Moss. And I wish she would eat more food. She's pretty, but being a stick figure because she never eats makes her less pretty.
Rebecca - She's cute, but she would be cuter if she could form coherent sentences without sounding like she had just downed a handle of Smirnoff. Oh wait, she probably had, because these kids are like a bunch of high school students who got their paws on mom & dad's liquor. Seriously? Are we looking to experience life outside of the Amish community or life before the AA meetings begin?
Sabrina - I can't figure out who cries more. You or Kate? Stop it. Everyone is called a slut or whore at one time in their life, right? Sure, maybe in your case people aren't joking about it. But maybe stop acting like one and the name-calling will stop as well?
- Also, I didn't get to catch the early episodes of the show, but can I just ask why they would end up in NYC? They were looking to get away from the Amish-ness for a while, I understand. But to go to NYC is to have the Amish crap kicked out of you. Sheesh. I feel shell-shocked in NYC, and I grew up with a life of indulgence and electricity and education beyond the eighth grade. I can't imagine what NYC looks like to someone who has never experienced that kind of thing.
- I'm on episode eight, but I don't really know what that means. Because they seem to be packing up the clothes they won't be allowed to have, and heading back to wherever they came from. Am I at the end? I do have a knack for catching on super late. ;)
In the least offensive way possible, I disagree with any culture that so harshly restricts and shelters its people. In my opinion, to cut them off from the rest of the world and its practices is to attempt to control them. It's weird and puts them at a severe disadvantage, should they not be able to remain in the Amish community for whatever reason. And by the way, it makes them go apeshit when they finally get their hands on alcohol. Holy crap. I'd love to take a look at Kate's liver after her stint on this show. I understand and respect religious beliefs, but at the same time, I don't think God loves any of us less because we move with the flow of progression........ know what I mean? I do apologize if I am offending anyone. I just think we all have earned the right to enjoy a drink every now and then. Ha. Kidding. Kind of.

3. Is it wrong that I may be willing to spend $11 to see the last Twilight disaster in theaters just so I can finish the making fun of K.Stew that came to a dramatic to be continued halt at the end of the first one?

4. It has only been like, 4 days, but I'm really nervous Starbucks wants nothing to do with me despite the disgusting amounts of money I spend there on a daily basis, let alone in a fiscal year. However I am also overly dramatic and fear the worst at all times. I'm just so into the idea of leaving my current job, that the notion of this thing not working out is pretty crippling. Gulp.

5. I need a new laptop. I think I will have to give up on the MacBook Pro dream this time around. Oh well. I'm sure I won't lose that much sleep over saving $800. Any recommendations? I'm leaning towards an HP... I've heard good things.

Hope you're enjoying your Tuesday, thanks for sitting through another pointless post. ;)

Happy Election day, I hope you aren't all shitting bricks over the outcome like I am.

Lies. I say that now, but by the time anyone actually reads this, I will have already voted, and also forgotten that it's Election Day. Because I don't have room for political clutter bullshit in my brain at the moment. ;)

Anyway, stop reading this psycho babble and go vote!

Cumberland Fams Coffee: Not for beginners

My brother's car is in the shop.

I know the notion of this is a shocking one, as the 2001 Chevy Venture with a busted side mirror, a plethora of dents, and an incessantly flashing "check engine" light is no doubt an unbeatable tank. A well-oiled machine. A chariot.

You know you want one of these babies.
But, as with every heroic icon, with age, their days of glory slowly draw to a close. Their guts expand. Their looks fade. And before they know it, the joints they used to use for running those marathons and lifting those weights (I'm talking to you, Bruce, Arnold...) are now used to predict impending rain.

So yeah. The car is old. And it's in the shop. A lot. So my brother is stranded at home. A lot.

Before I left for my daily cup of caffeine addiction, I asked him if he wanted anything. He said no. Then later texted back asking where I was going for it.

I told him Starbucks, but that wherever he wanted it from would be fine since it's all in the same area.

A simpler being than I, he is perfectly content with gas station coffee.

What's not to love? You dispense it yourself, and can doctor it up to your heart's content. I have been known to have a giant $0.99 coffee or two on my stingier days.

Right as I was about to text him asking him how he liked it and whether or not he trusted my barista skills, he sent me a picture message that proved he did not.

Or maybe he was just trying to be helpful. You be the judge. Either way, I was LOL'ing all over the place.

Kid doesn't mess around with his coffee. :p

things I have learned from LMN.

I love my boyfriend Anthony.

I love hanging out with him.

I am not too fond of days where I don't get to see him for at least a little while.

However, in that deep, devastating pit of free time where he is being studious working on architecture-related homework, and I am being lazy, concocting ways to exploit my "work drama" to score a reality show and thus meet the Kardashians, I often like to shove time fillers. One of those fillers happens to be the one and only Lifetime Movie Network.

We all love Lifetime movies. Where else can you find such a deranged collection of characters, plots, and emotions all coiled together into one theatrical shit-show like a perfectly crafted roll of sushi?

Not to mention all the great lessons you can learn from these movies.

Some of the delectable morsels of knowledge I have taken from such flicks?

1. It's really easy to sneak out of a hospital.
For real. From a chick being locked down in a psych ward for being schizophrenic and seeing the ghosts of murder victims of a particular case she was working on to a recovering coma patient who is under arrest as a murder suspect. Whatever the reason for their imprisonment, these women always find a way to Jack Bauer their way out of their hospital room without any sort of security being able to detect or stop them.

This is before the psych ward. :-O

2. Where in real life time is of the essence, in Lifetime land, time is on your side.

I was watching Deadly Sibling Rivalry (does that not just scream "lifetime movie!") last night and one main character was an excellent rock climber, the other, her twin, sucked at it, and apparently life as well. Towards the end, Sporty Twin's daughter had very unrealistically been pitched over a cliff by Loser Twin who was evidently a fervent psychopath. Of course, as luck would have it, the kid lands on the side of the cliff like Spider Man, with a good footing and decent hand placement. Big shot rock climber mom decides she is going to put her skillz to use, and leaves her dangling for a good 5 minutes at least while she runs to some shed full of rock climbing equipment with no more than a heartwarming, "hold on- I'll be right back!" -- "I'll try, mom!"* exchange. While in the shed, she makes time to peruse said equipment until she finds the right stuff, and beat up Loser Twin who was trying to kill her with a garden rake. Did I mention this was like, a day after waking up from a coma? Someone was pounding the Red Bull that day.

* Who says, "I'll try!" to a state-the-obvious comment like that? How about an "if I don't, I'll die. I love you!" or "Hurry!" or something equally more realistic?

Spoiler alert!

3. The more safe and secure your gated community is, the higher the likelihood that someone will try to kill you.
In Love Thy Neighbor, a family moves into a gated community after a traumatic break-in. After a shocking plot twist, lightening struck twice in the same spot and they moved in next to a raging lunatic who killed their cat, stabbed their daughter in the leg (I think?), and tried to kill the mom. Then, in Panic Button, same theme. Family tries to reestablish a sense of normalcy after a hinted-at traumatic incident involving the wife. They pack up and move to a gated community. Ah, safe. Oh but wait, as it turns out, they picked the exact house that Mr. Sociopath I-wear-all-black-all-the-time lives next door to. And, as luck would have it, he becomes obsessed with the wife and tries to get rid of the husband who almost cheated on her while away on business. Don't worry, husband learned from his mistake and in his next life divorced his wife before finding someone else on Pretty Little Liars where he plays Hanna's dad.

Ah, gated communities. Apparently all this time they have just been working to keep the crazy inside, not out. ;)

Believe it or not, this is the normal family.

Oh Lifetime. What would we do without you?

What are your favorite Lifetime movies?

Have a great Fall weekend! :)

taking a quick break from...

... Oh who am I kidding. No one is going to guess this.

CLEANING

Yep, that's right all you doubters out there! I'm actually doing it. I went to bed last night swearing off Blogger until I cleaned my room and the upstairs bathroom.

I haven't done this much free cleaning since the last staff meeting where we had to come in, clean the restaurant, and not get paid for it.

Now, before you all line up to congratulate me on finally having a productive day off, I will admit, I haven't cleaned either of those places yet.

But hey, I'm new at this domestication thing! I started with the living room. I figure, it's one of the first things that guests see after our dining room speckled with 6 patched holes in the wall courtesy of the unruly canine.

Okay. That's a lie. The sole reason I started with the living room was because I went to Walmart this morning and blew through a healthy percentage of my paycheck buying all sorts of Halloween and Autumn-y decorations for my house. Yup. I cleaned the whole room to put two little pumpkin votive holders on the end tables on either side of our couch. But, I really cleaned it. Took out all the clutter, swept up the 490 pounds of dog hair, shoveled out the fireplace (yeah, you heard me), and rearranged a bit. All for two wee pumpkins. Imagine what I could do for a million dollars. Or a Lexus RX 450h.

Aren't the ghosts cute? They are for the bathrooms. And that look on their face? It's because I just told them how much I was about to spend. :-O
Next up was the downstairs bathroom to hardcore clean my neighbor out of it. You remember my neighbor. The one who hobbled over at 2:30 in the morning after drinking, bled on my counter top instead of just waking up his mom, and called me a bad nurse even though I'm not a nurse yet all because I couldn't give him stitches at almost 3am in my bathroom that believe it or not doesn't double as a hospital room?

Yeah, him.
(Post to come on him. I keep promising this. I should probably actually write it.)

I did some light Clorox-spraying after he left that morning, but I didn't scour the surfaces with bathroom cleaner and bleach until today. Hey, what can I say? I like sanitary. ... Oh, and I wanted to put a little ghost in there.

Right now I'm scarfing some weird buffalo wrap that I made (note to self: skip the ranch next time) and taking a quick breather from my rough day of productivity.

Moral of the story? Give me a decoration for a room, and that room will be spotless in no time. Fireplace and all.

Welp. Back to the grind. I'll be by to read up on blogs later tonight. Don't forget, tomorrow is my very first week of my little photography challenge I'm starting (topic: pumpkins)! I'm going to try to figure out this link-up business when I'm done cleaning only the rooms that are going to be decorated. Hehe. Just kidding. :p

self checkout: code for "don't bug me" (and a giveaway!)

I was at Stop & Shop yesterday.

I was making a quick pit stop on my way home from school because I wanted a sandwich. Certain members of my family (aka Broski) tend to take the last of something and either not replace it, or not let anyone know it's gone. (ie. milk, cheese, etc.) Then the innocent pigs (aka myself) wander down looking for a sandwich, and all we (aka I) have to put on the bread is mayonnaise and lettuce. Yum?

NO.

Anyway, I got my items together and headed off to see my best friend, the self checkout. Normally it's all well and good, pleasant experience all around. In, out, and onto the stuffing of the face.

Not this time, folks. Not. this. time.

So I thought, before I go on to my story, I would take a moment to make a note about an invisible rule. A silent understanding that comes with the foreign gadget that is.....

THE SELF CHECKOUT.
Let's begin.
__________________________________________________________________

I present to you, the self checkout at Stop & Shop.

We all love it, no? I mean, how can you not?

It is playtime for our inner children. Fulfilling the childhood dream of being a cashier. Don't shake your heads no -- I know we all at one time or another played "store". Scanning items, pushing buttons, fake money? You know, back when in our minds, being a cashier was the greatest job on this big blue marble?

Not to mention, the self-checkout makes it super simple to grab those fun feminine products, dart to the lane, zip in, zip out, and not have to endure even one awkward "hey, don't judge me, we all bleed red!" moment from any male cashier or bag boy alike.

Or hey, maybe you just don't feel like being social today.

Up against this mountain of positives, how can you deny that the self-checkout was the single most useful addition to grocery stores since the free sampling (aka lunch time) at Costco?

Of course, though, with all good things, come a set of rules you need to follow. And of course, those who don't follow them. I had a run-in with one of those people yesterday. But first, the most important rule (or guideline, if you will) to the self checkout:

RESPECT THE F*ING SPACE BUBBLE.

Don't be scared. I suspect there are only a handful of offenders, as I've only encountered this a mere couple of times. Basically, give the person in front of you room to get their shit done. Don't hover. It's nice to respect a minimum of three feet between the person checking out, and the first person in line behind them.

With that in mind...........

As I was saying, I was shopping for last-minute items, and was using a coupon because I am a college student who tends to misplace her cheese & lettuce money at Kohl's & Target.

I'm mid-scanning, and a woman (who had apparently tragically fallen into a pool of perfume that day) and her husband strolled in behind me to wait.

As I'm scanning in my wrinkly, bottom-of-my-purse-since-last-Sunday coupon, Perfume Lady starts plopping her shit down inside the pile of baskets where I had just put my empty basket. This is right below where you swipe your credit card. I managed to quell the eye-roll that was desperately trying to escape, and continued to wrestle with my coupon so that the darn machine would scan it.

Let's face it: I was starving. Cranky. Not in the mood, lady.

If you couldn't tell, I'm not a huge fan of this hovering thing.

If you're paranoid like me, then your inner red flags are waving frantically as your brain is looking for its pepper spray screaming "back up off my debit card PIN number, you crazed thief!1!!1!!!" AKA, "please don't stand right in front of the credit card swipey thing."

Feeling rushed and pressured to hurry up, I more fiercely started rubbing my coupon on the scanner in ways that would make grandma raise an eyebrow. I couldn't help it-- this machine was just not taking my coupon. I think it knew I was getting flustered and was mocking me.

Much to my relief, it finally went through, and asked me to insert said coupon. Since there was only one, of course the machine didn't notice when my 0.0000000001 ounce strip of paper slid into the slot. So I'm waiting, and waiting
................................ and waiting
................................................. and waiting.

Meanwhile, Perfume Lady is still right next to me, but now she is poking around the lane, inspecting a receipt left behind by a former customer. Looking it over and just being nosy. Then she looked at my screen, no doubt wondering what was taking me so long, and then was all, "I think it wants you to insert your coupon".

Mind you, the screen was a faded purple color, blank other than big black words reading "INSERT COUPONS NOW."

Feeling the temperature of my tepid blood go up a degree or two, I said, "I already did, it's not detecting it or something." While in my head I'm thinking, "really? As long as we are shining lights on obvious facts, can we talk about how much perfume you're wearing?" while violently poking the "Help" button, to no avail.

She then starts scoping out other checkout lanes. Phew, the one behind mine opened up, and she started to gather her things. Finally, I can make a fool of myself in peace.

Determined to get my $1 off my 2/$6 boxes of FiberOne bars of individually wrapped sticks of chocolate-covered fiber, I was now desperate enough to seek help. There was a friendly looking pretty girl in a purple Stop & Shop shirt, not far away.

ThankyousweetbabyJesus.

She must have seen my eye twitching in frustration as I approached her, and came right over saying that this "happens all the time." She, as if by magic, scanned something here, hit a button there, and POOF! I was able to pay and GTFO.

Thank you, my friendly Stop & Shop savior!

I packed up my stuff and darted out of the store giving one last stink-eye to Perfume Lady. Ha. That showed her.

Well. If she had seen me, it undoubtedly would have. ;)

In closing, respect the space of fellow self checkout users! We don't like to be crowded, and chances are, we don't like people! :p

And because you have been so good and stuck with me until the end (which was a lot farther from the beginning than I had anticipated), here-- have a chance or 3 to win a $10 Starbucks gift card on me.

Giveaway ends Sunday!

I'd tap that... with my front bumper.

As everyone probably knows by now (because I haven't shut up about it since I found out I was going), I am in Florida. However, I still want to publish one of the posts that has been sitting in my drafts waiting for over a week (it was supposed to be posted last Tuesday, but I bumped it for the Blogger 411 post many of you may remember).

Anywho...

The other day I was driving, and I passed one of my biggest pet peeves on the road. But before I get to that, I'm going to introduce yet another little idea I have to keep myself blogging.

Honestly, you'd think this would be easy. I want to blog. It shouldn't be much harder than that, should it? But unfortunately, it's like pulling teeth getting me to sit my butt down long enough to bang out a post. It's probably one of the harder battles I've ever fought with myself. Which is odd considering it should be like:

I want to blog. So I blog.

Ha! Nope.

Not here.

 More like...

I want to blog. I should blog. I have stuff I want to blog about. But wait, my DVR is full of untouched Pretty Little Liars episodes. And I don't know if anyone will care to read what I write. Should I really be blogging when my room is a little more demanding of that attention? But I want to blog! But I left my computer downstairs in the dining room. Ooh, the kitchen could use some cleaning. Hmm I should blog. Maybe after I go to Starbucks... and so on, and so on.

But, there is one thing I always have time for... complaining.

So this little weekly idea just might stick.

With that said, I think every Tuesday, I will air one of my pet peeves. A personal boiling point, if you will. Because, think about it. Any day before hump day suck anyway. Might as well harness that distaste and apply it to something productive... like a blog post!

So without further ado, my boiling point of the week (and month, and year, and lifetime, etc) ... cyclists.
cred.
Honestly, I want to insert a "no offense" in here somewhere. I really do. But it's gotten to the point where, I just don't care who I offend. Because these bikers are really driving me bananas. I love summer to death. But knowing that it goes hand-in-hand with contending with arrogant cyclists pretending they are cars...? I'm ready to move to Antarctica, people. Bet there aren't any cyclists there. ;)

And this isn't coming from a place of "I am car. I own road." It's more like, "I have a clean driving record, and I don't want to be charged with vehicular manslaughter because a guy in a leotard on a 10 lb. bike thinks it can ride 4 feet from the side of the road without being in danger and annoying."

I don't know about other areas, but here in New England? We have the Greenways bike bath. B I K E PATH. Meant for bikes. Runs parallel to the road? And stretches pretty damn far up New England? I can ride for 15 minutes from Anthony's house and be in Massachusetts. Who knows how many thousands of dollars went into its construction and renovation over the last few years. It's freshly paved, has scaled down stop signs, crosswalks where it crosses the road, it even has lines on it, differentiating the left from the right side. Seriously. It's a mini road, people.
cred.
So until someone can tell me why it's oh-so much better to ride among dangerous multi-ton vehicles, causing them to swerve "at least 3 feet" to the side to give them a "cushion" (as they ride next to instead of on the path). Or why they sit at traffic lights, and obey the lights, yet run stop signs to take corners at high speeds in my blind spot where I could very easily accidentally hit them as my car turns the corner...? Until I get an answer to those questions, my hatred for these hobbyists will continue.

*** Disclaimer: Obviously, despite my distaste for this breed of enthusiast, I would never actually hit a biker. And do in fact over exaggerate the "cushion" they demand on our roads so as to emphasize just how much of an inconvenience they are. And truthfully I really don't care who I'm offending because not only is it my blog, but it's also my life they clearly don't care about when I have to either slam on my breaks to avoid them (endangering myself or anyone behind me), or quickly pass them and return to my side of the road, endangering myself and oncoming traffic. Why should I care about their feelings, when they don't care about other drivers' lives? Or their own, for that matter. ***

Haha. Don't be scared. I just can't stand this ridiculous arrogance on the road. And the fact that my state alone bent over backwards trying to renovate their freaking paths, and they don't use them. Not even that they don't use them, but that they clog up and endanger other drivers on the roads instead of utilizing a gorgeous and enjoyable resource my tax dollar paid for.

Anyone coming back next week? Lol. Don't worry. I like most other people! :p

quote of the day

Arguably disrespectful, but I couldn't help but cackle during this conversation when one of the cooks at my work responded the way he did....

Cook: Sam do you know who is singing this song?
Me: What's the first letter?
Cook: R
Me: Rolling Stones?
Cook: Yeah. Do you know what it's about?
Me: ... someone named Angie?
Cook: Do you know who Angie was?
Me:  ummm........... his dog?
Cook: Close, it was David Bowie's wife.

Rude? Yes
Somewhat offensive? Of course
But, was it hilarious? Yessss it was.

Random-ass post, I know... but at least I'm posting semi-daily, right? :p

Something of more substance tomorrow. Maybe a giveaway too! I'm definitely going to do one, the only question is when, lol. Stay tuned..... happy Thursday!

Mass makes a funny

I love funny street signs.

Especially ones that try to tell me what to do.

Double-especially ones that try to tell me what to do, however make little sense and leave plenty of wiggle room while doing so.

I love wiggle room. Lots of space for loopholes. ;)

So, I may or may not have cackled giggled when I drove into Massachusetts to take advantage of their cheaper gas price, and happened upon this sign.

"No texting while driving"

To me, this means text messages are prohibited.

Not Facebook-ing
Not Tweeting
Not even Instagramming or taking pictures

Great sign, Massachusetts. Thanks for the green light! ;)
